For all ECO-Asia program activities, USAID contractors and implementing partners deploy a range of program resources, including targeted technical assistance, coordination support, small grants, exchanges, and communications support. In collaboration with program partners, USAID applies an integrated mix of these resources to support policy formulation workshops, targeted studies, awareness campaigns, peer-to-peer exchanges, counterpart “twinning” arrangements, regional toolkits, regional forums and trainings, and communication tools.

Water & Sanitation

ECO-Asia's water and sanitation program has been focused in three areas. Expanding water service delivery, decentralized sanitation solutions and innovative financing provide the framework for supporting activities.

Biodiversity Conservation

Through support to the ASEAN Wildlife Enforcement Network (ASEAN-WEN) and implementing the Asia Regional Biodiversity Conservation (ARBCP) and Resposible Asia Forestry and Trade (RAFT) Programs, ECO-Asia is aiding South East Asia in biodiversty conservation.

Clean Development and Climate Program

The ECO-Asia Clean Development & Climate Program promotes regional policy and market transformation in Asia that promotes investment in clean energy technologies while addressing Asia’s economic productivity, energy security, and environmental challenges, particularly Asia’s contribution to global climate change.

Environmental Governance

ECO-Asia will be implementing environmental compliance and enforcement activities through support to the Asian Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network (AECEN) and encouraging transboundary conflict resolution in the Mekong River basin.

Tsumani Recovery

In response to the tsunami of 2004, US AID has implemented projects to support the Tsunami Early Warning System to assist in the warning of another tsunami event. Also, through ECO-Asia, US AID assists in the rebuilding of the livelihoods of persons affected by the tsunami.
